Gecko!
)
That's from a trip I went to today with the Chen Chi Rotary Club. I went on a whole-day trip with my home ma's rotary club today, so had to get up from 6 am in the morning - yaaawn. It was by bus as always so I didn't pass out from need of sleep though. But it's not like I'm implying now that I slept in the bus for more than 5 minutes so I'm going to have a good night sleep very soon hopefully.

We went several places. The first one was a mountain called Shi Ba Jien San. On the above picture you can see the view over the nearby city, Shien Ju.

Sorry for not writing yesterday. It was so late when I got to it, I just decided to go to bed instead. Perhaps you can have some info about traditional chinese breakfast another day.

But oh well. Today I was taken to Yilan, which is actually less than an hours drive away from Taipei because of the Hsueshan Tunnel, the second longest road tunnel in East Asia, which was just finished in 2007. Takes about 10-20 minutes to drive through and has fantastic acoustics.

On the way there, I saw Haruhi all of a sudden. Haruhi chips, lol.
In Yilan, (which is btw pronounced Iilan,) we drove around and asked people which way to whatever and didn't really have a clue about where we were I think, but eventually we got to somewhere after asking random people on scooters ever 5 minutes.

This was really nice. Having a walk somewhere quiet where I weren't caught in between 8+ stories tall buildings everywhere. Even when I got lost and went way out of Taipei city the other day, the buildings were still 5 stories tall in average, but this place in the mountains is only inhabited by farmers mostly, so you only really see a lot of temples, ricefields and teafields and then a lot of actually pretty beautiful residential buildings, but also a lot of not so rich-looking houses.

Of course, we ate some special stuff again. This was really nice, especially the noodles, which are not visible here, but are to be found in the flickr set that you get into, if you click one of the pictures.

Found a funny poster.

And met some people. Joni is on my left hand and her parents right in front of her. Maybe some day I will know more about the other people, but for now I just know the two guys in the front are somewhat famous for the cultural works.
Oh, getting very late. Goodnight. :)
