Tiredz

by Sander Tams 30. August 2009 14:56

Tonight, I am for some reason really really tired. Which is a bit strange, but actually good, since I have to get up really, really early tomorrow, to make a speech in front of the entire school in a foreign language, which I actually haven't been practicing very much. Lawd help me. Mehh.

Nothing much happened today, so I'm just going to put in some pictures of the hot spring bath-thingy we went to again tonight:

When you go there, you lease a room with a kind of bath tub to bathe in. It is connected to a hot spring and some cold water reservoir so that you can adjust the temperature to your likings by turning the notches. Be carefull not to make it too hot.

This room is very different from the one I got last time I was here. It had taps from where the water came out, a cold and a hot. Here, you can use the valves on the top to adjust the temperature and amount of water that streams out. I think this is somewhat more good-looking than having some ugly taps in the middle of the stone "tub", but instead the room lacked windows that could be opened.

This is water from the hot springs, so they have a white color and smells like eggs. This is because of the hydrogen sulfide in the water, which is there because the water is geothermally heated.

Hydrogen sulfide is actually poisonous, but the human body can manage quite high levels of it before things start breaking down because of enzymes in the body specially made to avoid an actual hydrogen sulfide poisoning. So don't worry about this, when you go to hot springs, it is not even harmfull to the organism if you inhale hydrogen sulfide daily for short periods, as long as you just stay under the level the enzymes can manage. (But if your eyes start to hurt, get away from that volcano or petroleum refinery dude!)
