Cakes in Taipei

Today I'm just going to post a bunch of pictures that I took not more than an hour ago.

I don't really have much to tell about these cakes, because I didn't taste them and they're not really regarded as a Taiwanese specialty.

I was just thinking: maybe you don't see this culture of displaying cakes at the cafes in your country. Of course they sell cakes at the cafe's in other countries, but here in Taiwan they all look quite expensive yet costs only about 35 to 45 NT$ a piece. That's around 1-1.3 US$ or ~6 Danish Kroner.

Looks good, eh?

A square cake! :D

300 NT$ for a cake with 6inch (15cm) diameter and 480 NT$ for the 8inch (20cm) one. Not super cheap in Taiwan. Incredibly cheap elsewhere.

As you can see, appearance is very important for certain things here in Taiwan (and Asia in general). For cakes, it's almost the only important attribute of them all. Although, they taste pretty good too - when you've gotten used to eat cakes that are not really very sweet, that is.
Anyway, go get a coffee, really. Because the coffee here is quite good. Especially the one I just got at the cafe where I took the pictures. That one is called 85 Degrees Celsius, if you should bump into it while in Taipei. It's still cheap enough and not bad I think.

No more free advertisement for now. I feel like I'm getting healthier right now for some reason, but I'll need some good sleep now to not turn the evolution around. Good night.
