Taipei 101

That's the tallest building in the world just for your information.

Yeah, yesterday I went there to have a look at the city. Actually my home ma suggested we go there last Saturday but it was a rainy day so the view would probably be terrible.

Taipei 101 has different heights depending on how you want to count it. The antenna of it reaches up to 509 meter while the roof is at 449 meter. Although Burj Dubai reaches up 818 meter with it's spire, Taipei 101 still holds the title of the tallest building in the world since the definition requires the building to be finished and habitable. And again... even though Burj Dubai is probably going to finish in December and thus beat it, there's always Taipei 202. (Hey, Burj Dubai is just like a big spire really. Taipei 101 has ~30% more floor space than Burj Dubai actually.)

Nearby Taipei 101 is a bunch of other interesting buildings and stuff. This is apparently the place everyone has to take a picture with whenever they go here the first time. Oh just by the way: This is going to be a very tall post, but click more and read it anyway, ok? :) Iz taeken lotsa naic pohtos.

Longhouse is looooong.

Inside is, of course, a bunch of stores for ugly brands no one sane would buy because they're way too expensive and not really good products anyway.

All in all the inside is really gorgeous although, as the design is just. Uhh... Overwhelming. Also there's a lot of really good looking restaurants, although also at pretty crazy prices. They're almost as costly as an average restaurant in Denmark! :O

All of a sudden I was at the top. ~400 meter above the ground. When you take a high speed elevator to the observatory at the 90th floor you will only have to spend 30 seconds inside the elevator. Actually took us just 26 seconds to get there. Inside the two high speed elevators of Taipei are a little screen that will show you your current position, speed and a timer so that you are entertained on your trip.

Inside is of course a lot of souvenir shops and people selling expensive rocks.

There's also an area outside at the (almost) very top where you can feel the wind and whatever.

Just don't throw substances while you're there.

That's the spire from up close.

Inside they've also got this. A Super Big Wind Dampener.

A bit of a machinery I guess.

And this is what the screen inside of the high speed elevator looks like.

Back down there we found a number of really fancy looking Japanese restaurants with sushi and other goodies. Unfortunately they'd only open up 2 hours later at 6 pm so we went down to the food court in the basement instead and ate.

And that's how I am going to end this incredibly photospammy blogpost. Actually I took 105 photos in total during my visit to Taipei 101. That's pretty close to the number 101 actually. (Okay, I know I'm ridiculous.) Anyway, you can see all of them in my photos page which I still haven't been able to put up a comments feature on yet.

Have a nice weekend.

Jeg undrede mig over, hvornår du ville se det tårnTong Men kan ligesom fornemme, at det var lidt af en skuffelse, at du ikke måtte kaste med substanser?^^
