Not writing much lately

Am sorry about that. I go to school and talk a lot with people there, so there's not much time or new subjects for my blog at the moment. (Actually, there's loads of subjects waiting to be written about, but that'll require me to use some more time in front of the pc obviously. Besides, I want to get into programming browser games again. It seems like I have been contributing nothing to the tech game since I got here, and I've also got a number of other ideas for more simple games that need to get out. So far I have only sketches of code.

Anyway. Some weeks ago, methinks. ? - I went to take some pictures around Xinpu. That's still inside Banqiao, so I can walk there in a few minutes. My school is in that direction too, so now I actually frequent it. It's a lot more interesting than this little blue corner where I'm currently at.

Yup. All I had for you was nighttime photos this time. Now. I just want to credit with another youtube with POLYSICS. I'd have loved to go to a concert like this. (Oh yeah, the pictures above are taken in Taiwan, however, POLYSICS is a Japanese band. I am currently in Taiwan, just so that some people might get less confused.)

That's the area where I currently stay. But seems you went the other direction. I have to walk quite a bit to come to the Xinpu MRT, but that's fine. Smile

Nice pics. And I need to explore your blog more. Definitely bookmarking you Smile

I bookmarked you first. ;)

If I remember, I might turn towards Dante to look for spaghetti. I hope they'll cook it decently.

nice photos.  i live kinda close from there.  just across the bridge in sinjhuang.  we go to xinpu station if we have to take the mrt and there's also lots of restaurants around there, so we go eat around there pretty often.

My school is really close to the Xinpu station and from now on, I'll be walking by the place every day. (Before I lived closer to the Banqiao Main Station, but now I'm southeast of Xinpu station. Living somewhere near Global Mall (the department store that has some free buses with immensely annoying advertisements inside going around the area.)

Nice!  We really like going to the Global Mall.  In fact, we go there very often.

I see, you're on the southern part. I'm more northern, in the Jianzicui direction. The area around Xinpu is huge. But I probably won't stay here too long, my small apartment is not really good, the windows are too small and the light just can't reach inside. But me and my girl visited the place at night and so we didn't know. But at least it's cheap and cool during the hot days. In Taiwan, I try to adapt and take it easy as much as I can. Did you get used to the motorbikes? Ah, you're here longer. But for me it's sometimes really hard to dodge them, they're like bullets Tong Oh, and another thing. You're blond, even blonder than me. Do people look at you non-stop? In my case, they do. I guess I'm really that different for them, because of my hair color, big nose and freckles. It's funny sometimes, makes me chuckle inside. Happens a lot in Xinpu.

Haven't had a collision with a scooter yet. Being from Denmark, I am of the opinion that pedestrians come first, then bicyclers, and then the machine last. If they look in doubt, I walk in front of them before they gather up enough courage, but some of them are just determined to go first, and all I can do is send angry looks towards their backs.
That's about all I can say about walking in trafficked Taipei. Otherwise, it's just practice and determination.
Myself, I see no much problems with the scooters. But the cars sometimes make chains while turning right, driving just up eachothers butts, so that no pedestrian may pass the street in-between, sometimes forcing you to walk over for red.

About my appearance. Yeah, in the beginning I felt everyone on the street was staring at me. Often with the mouths wide open too. Now I don't know if it's I've tanned a little and changed clothes or if I'm just not noticing anymore, but it's not a big thing anymore.
People do have a tendency to express that I look like Leonardo Di Caprio. It's every time I meet new people. Even if it's just a store clerk in Coco's or the likes. Especially, in the bluer areas where people like to sit around together and watch television or something in their street-stores, I often hear people say something like "Oh, Leonardo passed by" in Chinese.

It's a bit repetitive, but it's not bad enough for me to go dye my hair over it. I understand the people here though. I actually do catch myself staring at foreigners once in a while. It's not everyday you see non-Asian people around here.

Ah, it's so obvious, that you're so much longer here and very well integrated. And you must speak excellent Chinese, but mine is very limited. I know how to order drinks or food, can say few simple things, but I haven't really studied Mandarin. But it's my plan for the future. So I don't really understand, if people talk about me, hehe. I guess that's better. But recently I just listen to music, while walking and I just forget everything else around me. I just try to stay positive. Hey, Leonardo Di Caprio is a good actor, you're lucky they don't compare you to someone weird Smile Thanks for sharing.
